CBT days and riding lessons, next to your car diary

If your school teaches people to ride, Passdesk runs your CBT days alongside your car lessons. Places follow the DVSA ratios, riders book and pay online, instructors sign off each element on the day, and the CBT certificate is kept with a reminder before it runs out.

What's included

  • Course days with places worked out for you: 4 riders per instructor on site, 2 on the road
  • Riders book a date and a bike, and pay a deposit or the full price online
  • Elements A to E signed in order, only by an instructor on the day with an in-date qualification
  • Record the DL196, and the rider is reminded 60 and 14 days before it runs out
  • Training sites, bikes and instructor qualifications kept with their dates
  • DAS and A2 riding lessons in the diary, two riders to an instructor, with Module 1 and 2 results

How to run a CBT day in Passdesk

  1. 1

    Switch on motorcycle training

Tick "We teach riders too" when you set up your school, or switch it on later in your school details. Add your ATB number, training sites, bikes and each instructor’s qualification.

  2. 2

Put a course day in the diary

Pick the site, date, times, price and an optional deposit, and choose who’s teaching. Passdesk works out how many places there are and blocks those instructors’ diaries for the day.

  3. 3

    Let riders book

Riders choose a date and a bike, or say they’re bringing their own, and pay online. You can add someone who rang up yourself.

  4. 4

    Sign off the day

Tap each element as the rider completes it, then record the DL196 number once all five are signed.

FAQ

Does it cost extra?

No. Motorcycle training is part of every school plan, for schools in England, Scotland and Wales.

Does Passdesk print the DL196?

No. You fill in the certificate as you do now and record its number, date and signer in Passdesk, which keeps it on the rider’s record and reminds them before it runs out.

What if a rider doesn’t finish paying?

Their place is held for 30 minutes while they pay, then goes back on sale. If you don’t take card payments online, the place is booked straight away and the price shows as owed for you to collect.

Can I run car lessons and CBT days with the same instructors?

Yes. Rostering an instructor on a course day blocks those hours in their diary, so nobody can book them for a car lesson at the same time.
